Why Use Shungite Water?
 
Shungite is renowned for its natural filtration abilities and offers benefits beyond water purification. Materials Needed:
90g of Shungite
Glass or ceramic bowl
1-liter glass or ceramic jug or vessel
Mild dish soap
 
How to Prepare Shungite Water:
 
1) Clean the Shungite
Place the Shungite in a bowl and add a small amount of dish soap to remove grease and debris. Clean the stones thoroughly until all loose particles are gone.
 
2) Sterilize the Shungite
Boil a pot of water and submerge the Shungite for up to 10 minutes to sterilize it.
 
3) Soak the Shungite in Water
After rinsing the Shungite, place it in a glass or ceramic bowl. Fill the bowl with tap water, making sure the stones are fully submerged. Let it sit for up to two hours. You may notice black carbon particles in the water—this is normal and safe for plants, though not meant for drinking.
Repeat this process, rinsing the Shungite and replacing the water, until it becomes clear. This may take up to six hours.
 
4) Cleanse and Recharge the Shungite
To maintain your Shungite, it needs to be cleansed regularly. Wrap the stones in a clean tea towel and leave them in a dry, safe place for two to three days. You can also place the towel outside to dry in the sun. If necessary, repeat the cleaning and sterilization steps (1 and 2) before reusing.
 
Tips and Clarifications:
 
You do not need to discard and replace your Shungite after each use. Proper cleansing and recharging allow you to reuse it.
Larger batches of Shungite water can be made by following the same process and storing it in a glass jug.
Shungite is safe and naturally filters water, even used by some leading water filtration companies.
It's normal to see bubbles in the water; this is part of the process.
